John T. Stout focuses his practice in the area of telecommunications.
John received his Juris Doctor in 2020 from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was a member of the Environmental and Energy Law moot court team and a Baum Family Environmental Law Fellow Scholarship recipient. While in law school, John gained experience through several positions including working as a student law clerk for Chicago-Kent’s Environmental and Energy Law Clinic and as an in-house law clerk at the Gas Technology Institute. Following his graduation, John worked as a postgraduate environmental law clerk at the Greater Chicago Legal Clinic and as a legal analyst for the Gas Technology Institute.
Caitlin Johnson joins Ginsberg Jacobs
September 27, 2021 – Ginsberg Jacobs welcomes new associate, Caitlin Johnson
Caitlin M. Johnson focuses her practice on commercial real estate, finance, and corporate work for public and private entities.
Caitlin received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois, where she served as the Executive Editor of the Law Review from 2020 to 2021. In addition to her work on the Law Review, she was President of Student Legal Relief from 2019 through 2020. She was also the recipient of a Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing in 2021 and won three CALI Excellence Awards, awarded to the student with the highest grade in a law class. While in law school, Caitlin gained experience in a variety of practice areas through several positions including working as a Judicial Extern in U.S. District Court, and most recently, as a law clerk for Hart, McLaughlin & Eldridge.
Rebecca Janovsky joins Ginsberg Jacobs
September 7, 2021 – Ginsberg Jacobs welcomes Rebecca Janovsky, who will be joining the firm as Senior Counsel
Rebecca has more than two decades of experience with sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, including the development and financing of affordable and multifamily housing, hospitality, industrial, office, and retail properties, with a particular focus on commercial real estate financing and affordable housing tax credit transactions. Rebecca has represented commercial lenders in a broad range of financing transactions, including pre-development, construction, mezzanine and permanent loan facilities, loan securitizations, workouts, foreclosures and restructurings, bond issuance, and affordable housing tax credit financings.
Prior to joining Ginsberg Jacobs, Rebecca served as Senior Counsel for the Illinois Housing Development Authority, where she represented the Authority in all matters related to debt and equity financing of state and federally allocated funds and low-income housing tax credits. Previously, Rebecca practiced law at Sidley Austin LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Eric Roberson joins Ginsberg Jacobs

Eric Roberson prides himself on having extensive subject matter and transactional knowledge which has resulted in effective problem resolution skills throughout his career. His core competencies include delivering professional, timely, and cost-effective legal services to clients. He concentrates his practice primarily in banking, real estate and real estate finance law.
Eric began his career as an Associate and then Partner at Chapman and Cutler, where he spent 19 years focusing on all aspects of sophisticated real estate transactions including industrial projects, shopping centers, office buildings, single and multi-family house developments and mixed use developments. From there, he spent 8 years in-house at Urban Partnership Bank, first as Assistant General Counsel, and then as Director of Legal Services. Most recently, Eric served as Senior Counsel for Boodell & Domanskis, LLC.
