James “J.B.” Allen has been practicing law for over seventeen years in the areas of commercial real estate and finance law. Mr. Allen has represented developers, investors, owners, and institutional lenders in all aspects of commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint venture formation, financing, and leasing. He has extensive experience managing projects involving retail, office, industrial, multifamily, and hospitality properties throughout the United States. In addition, Mr. Allen has assisted clients with the development and management of their operations, including corporate formation and governance, asset and property management, and dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Ginsberg Jacobs, Mr. Allen practiced for an international law firm known for its real estate practice, and more recently as general counsel for an environmental consulting firm specializing in brownfields redevelopment. He is currently a Fellow with the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, and the President of the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association.
